Are you a therapist or a coach?
I'm both! I'm a qualified Cognitive Hypnotherapist and Transformative Coach. My approach combines therapy and coaching, I have found the combination of both together helps achieve the lasting change my clients are looking for. Some elements I will take a more therapeutic approach when for example we are getting to the root cause of something, others will be a more coaching based approach, for example when you’re exploring options.
What can you help me with?
I work with clients on a range of topics, whether that’s self-doubt, anxiety, confidence, limiting beliefs, perceived identities or a feeling of “...is this it?” We'll take a full life overview, identifying the patterns, reactions and stories you’ve been living through, and then begin to rewrite the learning. So you can respond to life differently—consciously, and in a way that serves you better.
What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a solution focused therapy that blends the transformative elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and Hypnosis. It’s designed to effectively tackle negative thought patterns and limiting beliefs that often restrict our potential. It is believed that our unconscious drives the majority of our behaviour using past information to interpret present situations. Through techniques involving relaxation and trance states, Cognitive Hypnotherapy enables direct engagement with the unconscious mind, uncovering the root causes of unwanted behaviours. All the resources for change are within us; sometimes, we just need a little help unlocking them.
What will hypnotherapy feel like?
They’ll be no swinging watches and stage tricks; Hypnotherapy is an engaging process where you’ll feel fully in control. Imagine a relaxed conversation where your deeper consciousness is accessed through guided questioning—this is what our sessions entail. You remain in complete control throughout, ensuring a safe and supportive experience. Each session typically lasts 60 minutes.
How many sessions will I need?
I work with clients for a minimum of 8 sessions. This enables us to get to the root cause of what is holding you back, change the learning from that and focus on your future. My sessions are designed to create lasting change, not to keep you coming back week after week. After our initial work together, I offer ad-hoc sessions for when you need a little extra support or accountability.
Who can't you work with?
As a member of the NCH and QCHPA, my practice follows very clear ethical guidelines and unfortunately, I am unable to work with you if you have even been diagnosed with the following conditions -Epilepsy (the deep relaxation of hypnotherapy is contra-indicated) -Psychosis (Bi-Polar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorder) -If you are already working with another therapist please let me know so we can discuss further.
